The "On My Sole" Origin

The On My Sole Origin: I used to be a dancer/choreographer in grade school. While attending The University of Texas at Austin, I created the #iGotSole dance company. I love acronyms, values, and principles, hence the “SOLE" acronym (Style, Optimism, Leadership, and Excellence). Those are the principles that represent me best in my day-to-day.

When our dance company began performing in shows, I sought out merchandise to make us all feel unified as a dance company. I worked with my fraternity brothers to style and modernize the merch we sported for performances and casual purposes, which turned out better than expected. The merchandise success and popularity made way for me to pivot and evolve the dance company into a lifestyle brand after I graduated, commissioned into the US Air Force, and experienced management constraints.

I eventually ended the lifestyle brand for 6 years due to my inability to market effectively or break even financially. When I separated from the military, I returned to my hometown, Houston, Texas, and started the “POTNAS Podcast” (also an acronym for “Perspective on Topics, News, and Stuff”). After the success and close of my podcasting chapter, I began thinking of ways to bring back a new and improved “SOLE” brand. Thus, “On My Sole” was created 1/16/25!

There are three phases of this SOLE rebrand. “Phase one” is our website and online store. “Phase 2” will be our adventure docuseries that will showcase leaders in their respective  industries radiating “sole”. Finally, “Phase 3” will be our performing arts division, which is what started it all for the SOLE brand. Thank you for taking the time to read our origin story and be part of this journey.
